Genres Reviewed On This Blog

MindSpirit Book Journeys features serious fiction, such as historical fiction, science fiction, Christian fiction (these are also reviewed on my YA blog, A Night's Dream of Books, but with a YA slant) , classics, and literary fiction. I will also review nonfiction dealing with intellectual and spiritual topics. Biographies and memoirs will be included, as well as art, poetry, psychology, philosophy, and theology.

During the holiday season every year, my reading interest turns to Christmas-themed romance novels, especially those set during the English Regency period. Since my YA readers are not usually interested in such books, I will be reviewing them here. Besides, these novels continue the legacy of Jane Austen, so I think it's entirely appropriate that they be reviewed on this blog, which focuses on classics and literary fiction.

RATING SYSTEM

At the moment, I am not using a rating system, such as stars, etc. I haven't found a satisfactory one (I've had problems with the HTML), so I have decided not to use one. Besides, it should be obvious, from my comments in a review, how I feel about a book.

If I do find a rating system that works in a satisfactory manner, somewhere down the line, then I will use it to give actual ratings to my reviews.
